Ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) during a joint patrol in the Pacific Ocean practiced the organization of fuel replenishment and cargo transfer on the move. This was reported to journalists in the information support department of the Pacific Fleet.
"In the East China Sea exercises were held on replenishment of water and fuel supplies by warships from support vessels, as well as practiced transfer of cargoes on the move by traverse method. In the second episode, the Pacific Fleet's large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs interacted with the PLA Navy's integrated supply ship Taihu. When following parallel courses, the crews trained to synchronize the speed of the course and to keep the interval, taking into account the displacement of the ships, sea swell and wind speed," the report says.
It is specified that the detachment of ships continues to move along the route previously agreed by the parties during the third joint maritime patrol of the Pacific Ocean waters and has covered more than 6,400 nautical miles since the beginning of the patrol. "During this period, sailors of the two countries conducted anti-submarine exercises, repelled an air raid of the conditional enemy, conducted training on rescue at sea, improved the skills of mutual takeoffs and landings of helicopters on the decks of warships," the military department concluded.
