A technical launch of the auto components plant “NPC VEZUMA” has taken place in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) “Alabuga”. The project is being implemented as part of Russia-China cooperation and represents a practical follow‑up to the agreements reached at the forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”.
The project is currently in the industrial implementation phase. The total investment volume amounts to 1.5 billion rubles.
At the first stage, the assembly production facility in “Alabuga” has been completed, and the first batches of products have already entered the Russian market. The plant’s production capacity is declared at up to 12 million spark plugs per year.
The facility has commissioned two modern assembly lines for spark plugs and an automated packaging line. In parallel, the mandatory marking system “Chestny Znak” (“Honest Sign”) is being introduced, which will ensure additional quality control at all stages of supply.
The project envisages further deepening of localisation. In particular, plans are underway to build a second plant in the Laishevo Industrial Park (SEZ “Innopolis”), where production of a key component — ultra‑strong ceramics for spark plug housings — will be established.
The launch of the enterprise reflects the growing interest of Chinese investors in localising production in Russia and confirms Tatarstan’s role as one of the key platforms for implementing joint industrial projects.
