Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree enabling Chinese citizens to visit Russia without visas until 14 September 2026, on the basis of reciprocity.
The signed document specifies that foreigners may enter Russia visa‑free for social or business visits, as tourists, and as participants in scientific, cultural, economic and sporting events. The permitted stay is up to 30 days.
It is noted that the visa‑free regime does not apply to PRC citizens entering Russia for employment purposes — including journalism — or for the purpose of studying.
The decree has entered into legal force.
