Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi Paid Official Visit to Moscow

During his visit, Chinese Minister was received by Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and held extensive talks with Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The Russian President welcomed Wang Yi to Russia, praised the state of Russian-Chinese relations that continue to develop dynamically amid heightened turbulence, and expressed readiness to further deepen well-rounded partnership and strategic co-operation with the People’s Republic of China.

During the subsequent talks, Sergey Lavrov and Wang Yi had an in-depth exchange of views on the schedule of bilateral contacts at the highest and top levels, as well as on certain issues of practical and humanitarian co-operation.

Regarding international issues, the two Ministers of Foreign Affairs emphasised the importance of enhancing coordination within the framework of the United Nations, the SCO, BRICS, the G20, APEC, and other multilateral mechanisms and forums.

The talks were held in a friendly and open setting, traditionally characteristic of Russian-Chinese relations. The Ministers highlighted similar positions on the main issues of bilateral co-operation and the global agenda, which follows the generous spirit of Russian-Chinese strategic partnership in full.
