The Konstantinovsky Palace hosted a conversation between Vladimir Putin and Wang Yi, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China, Head of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev also took part in the meeting from the Russian side, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui from the Chinese side.
- Putin: ...it was a visit that gave a good impetus to the development of trade, economic and humanitarian ties. As for trade and economic ties, we recently stated this at a meeting with Zhang Guoqing, Vice Chairman of the State Council of the People's Republic of China: in the first months of this year, trade turnover exceeded 120 billion dollars. And we have every reason to hope that we will, at any rate, approach the figure of 200 billion. According to Chinese statistics, as I understand it, it's even a little more than 120 billion in the first seven months.
