The Russian government is expanding the simplified visa regime with China for long-distance truck drivers. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"We will extend the simplified visa regime to a wider range of citizens of our countries. All our citizens who are engaged in international road transport to China will be able to apply for a multiple-entry visa for one year," Mishustin said.
He noted that Russian citizens engaged in international road transport to China will be eligible for an annual multiple-entry visa, adding that this permit will be valid regardless of their place of residence. The Head of Government emphasised that the duration of each individual visit is limited to 30 days.
Previously, this mode was available only to drivers, freight forwarders and translators from border regions. Now, with the growth of trade with China, the measure covers transport companies from all over Russia.
To implement the initiative, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation will submit for ratification a protocol to the agreement on the facilitation of road transport between Russia and China. It is expected that this will reduce business costs, speed up the delivery of goods and strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Issues of new partnership opportunities and further simplification of business conditions between Russia and China will be one of the topics of the Rostki International Forum, which will be held in Kazan on August 18-19, 2025.
