RUSSIAN CONSUL GENERAL IN HARBIN MEETS WITH THE HEAD OF HEILONGJIANG PROVINCE

Russian Consul General in Harbin Sergey Linnik and Governor of the Chinese northeastern province of Heilongjiang Liang Huilin discussed bilateral interregional cooperation, as well as the need to improve the work of checkpoints and transportation infrastructure on the Russian-Chinese border, according to the Russian Consulate General in Harbin.

It is noted that "the governor spoke in detail about Heilongjiang province, its industrial and trade potential, paying attention to the priority development of relations with our country".

It is pointed out that in the first half of the year the province's trade turnover with Russian regions increased by 15.9%.

"The need to improve the work of checkpoints and transportation infrastructure on the Russian-Chinese border was emphasized. In this regard, promising projects such as the cableway between the cities of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe and the development of the Dzhalinda - Mohe border crossing were also mentioned," the Consulate General pointed out.

At the same time, it is reported that "the parties expressed readiness to continue contacts in the interests of active promotion of strengthening interregional ties."
