A delegation of diplomatic missions from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and six other Southeast Asian countries arrived in the Republic of Tatarstan on a working visit. During the trip, they met with the Rais (Head) of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, to discuss promising areas of cooperation and reaffirm their commitment to open and mutually beneficial relations. Priority sectors identified included oil refining, mechanical engineering and IT. All members of the delegation received invitations to attend the International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”.
The delegation also expressed interest in developing cooperation with enterprises in Republic of Tatarstan, including through the platform of the Russia–Islamic World Strategic Vision Group. Direct air links with Kazan were highlighted by the diplomats as an important factor for strengthening both tourism and business ties.
As part of the visit, the guests will also explore the republic’s educational environment, as well as its industrial and investment potential. The programme includes visits to leading enterprises and technological sites across Tatarstan.
