During the traditional travel season known as *Chunyun*, associated with the Chinese New Year, residents across China actively travel to visit relatives and celebrate the holiday together.
During this period, the number of passenger journeys made by rail reached 121 million—an increase of 11.5% compared with the previous year. This was reported by Xinhua News Agency, citing the state-owned corporation China State Railway Group.
Passengers on trains and at railway stations were assisted by “special attendants” — humanoid robots. They helped travellers with luggage, navigation and registration, and also answered questions about train stops, transfers, weather conditions and other travel-related information.
