A charity golf tournament will be held at the SPROUTS Forum

One of the events of the cultural programme of the III International Forum "SPROUTS: Russia and China – mutually beneficial cooperation" will be a charity golf tournament for the Rais Cup of the Republic of Tatarstan, which will be held on August 17, 2025 from 10:00 to 18:00 at the Ak Bars Golf Club.
The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place on August 17, 2025 at 10:00 am.

The tournament will take place on a modern 18-hole course designed by legendary third-generation architect Peter Harradine.

It is no coincidence that the tournament is being held within the framework of the SPROUTS forum: golf in China is a rapidly developing and prestigious sport. In recent years, Chinese golfers have been asserting themselves on the world stage: 20-year-old Yin Zhongying from Shanghai joined the global elite, winning medals at international tournaments and rising to the top of the world rankings, and young athlete Guan Tianlan, at the age of 14, became the youngest participant in a Major tournament in history. At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, China took second place in the golf medal standings - the results in the individual championships among men and women were taken into account. Golf is growing in popularity in China, and golf tournaments are being held in Shanghai and on Hainan Island with the participation of foreign athletes.

"Holding a joint tournament in Tatarstan is a new gesture of cultural closeness, openness and mutual respect," said Taliya Minullina, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

The tournament will be attended by heads and representatives of enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as for the first time – guests of the forum from China. This event not only helps to strengthen business and cultural ties, but also carries an important humanitarian mission: the funds raised will be used to support the work of the Family Home in Kazan, where children who undergo long-term treatment at the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital live free of charge with their parents.

On August 17, a free Golf Clinic workshop will be organised for participants of the SPROUTS forum, which will give them a chance to try themselves at the game and get to know its basics. The workshops are designed for beginners regardless of gender and will be held in a group class format at 11:00 and 14:00. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothes without heels, and clubs will be provided on site. The duration of the workshop is 1 hour.
