The Russian Federation and its regions have great potential for cooperation with the People's Republic of China. This was announced by Taliya Minullina, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, at the business breakfast “Bridges of Trust between Russia and China” held as part of the III International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”.
“The SPROUTS business forum today is an excellent platform for developing relations between the regions of Russia and the provinces of China. It was conceived to fulfill the directives of the heads of the two states. To do this, working contacts, specific projects and agreements are necessary, which means, regional platforms like Kazan are needed. Not only Tatarstan uses this platform, although the republic works closely with China, but also the other Russian regions too,” said the Head of TIDA.
Zhou Liqun, Chairman of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia, noted that Tatarstan has a developed petrochemical and automotive industry, with many scientific enterprises and companies working in the high-tech sector. Furthermore, the strong cultural ties have been established between the republic and China, and the direct flights have been launched between Kazan and Shanghai.
“Tatarstan is a wonderful logistics hub between Europe and Asia. It has a powerful industrial base and a very strong investment policy. We are grateful to the leadership of Tatarstan for supporting Chinese investors,” said Zhou Liqun.
