Russian and Chinese Prosecutors General Review Cooperation and Sign New Programme for 2027–2028

On 27 May 2026, a meeting between the heads of the supervisory authorities of Russia and China took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing - the country’s main political centre, where high-level negotiations are traditionally held.

To date, seven bilateral cooperation programmes have been successfully implemented. In addition, nearly one hundred prosecutors from Russia and China have completed advanced training at departmental educational institutions. The intensity of delegation exchanges has also increased, while cooperation in the field of legal assistance continues to strengthen.

During the meeting, the parties discussed combating cybercrime and coordinating efforts within international platforms such as the United Nations, BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

“The prosecutor’s offices of both countries are making significant efforts to protect the rights of investors,” noted the Prosecutor General of Russia. “An important step in this direction was the first-ever joint reception for Russian and Chinese entrepreneurs, held in Vladivostok in April last year,” emphasised Alexander Gutsan.

The parties also considered the possibility of holding a similar event in China.

The meeting concluded with the signing of the Cooperation Programme between the Prosecutor’s Offices of Russia and China for 2027–2028. The document provides for joint seminars, round tables and training events aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
