State Duma ratifies Russia-China investment protection agreement

The State Duma of Russia has ratified the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments, the press service of the legislative body reports.

“We are building relations based on the principles of friendship, reciprocity, non‑interference in the affairs of sovereign states and the absence of double standards. It should be emphasised that such relations have become possible thanks to our heads of state,” said State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

Thanks to the agreement, investors from both countries will benefit from a fair and equitable investment regime. This excludes the application of discriminatory measures and ensures conditions no less favourable than those granted to domestic investors or investors from third countries.
