On August 17, 2025, Kazan will host youth table tennis competitions and the “Evening League” tournament at the Boxing and Table Tennis Center. The events are part of the sports program of the 3rd International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation.”
Table tennis holds a special place in Chinese sports culture and is one of the most competitive sports worldwide. Chinese athletes have repeatedly demonstrated their leadership, winning 176 gold medals at the Olympic Games and claiming 12 of 20 gold medals at the 2019 World Championships.
In Kazan, the competition will feature athletes under the age of 16. A total of 96 players from 24 sports schools across Tatarstan will compete in teams of four. Matches will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a master class led by the 2025 Russian table tennis champions. The awards ceremony for winners and medalists will be held at 6:00 p.m.
Following the youth competition, the “Evening League” tournament will begin. Held for the second time as part of the Forum, it offers politicians, business leaders, and professional athletes attending the event an opportunity to compete together in doubles matches. Each pair will consist of one Forum guest and one Master of Sports, including champions of Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan.
Among the professional players participating are Maria Tailakova, Ekaterina Zironova, Daria Makeeva, Svetlana Kudryashova, Elena Abaimova, and other table tennis stars. The lineup will also include distinguished guests, among them Vladimir Leonov, Minister of Sports of Tatarstan, and Oleg Evgenyevich Moskovsky, President of the Interregional Specialised Machinery Exchange “Moscow (Russia) – Beijing (China).”

• 6:00–7:00 p.m. — Participant registration and warm-up
• 7:00–8:40 p.m. — Doubles matches
• 8:40–9:00 p.m. — Awards ceremony
