Putin’s Upcoming Visit to China Discussed in Beijing

On 14–15 April, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov paid an official visit to Beijing. During the visit, he was received by President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
One of the key topics was preparations for the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China, scheduled for the first half of the year. Lavrov conveyed personal greetings from the Russian President to Xi Jinping and discussed the agenda for the forthcoming summit.
The talks also addressed broader geopolitical issues. Both sides emphasised the importance of coordination between Moscow and Beijing on international platforms such as the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, BRICS and other global institutions. Xi Jinping called for closer strategic cooperation between the two countries.
