A business mission of Russian agricultural exporters has recently opened in Guangzhou. Representatives from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, “Agroexport”, Rosselkhoznadzor, specialised industrial unions of grain, poultry, pollock, and flour milling, and over 100 agricultural sector companies participated in the event. Over 200 organisations from China participated in the event. Particular attention was paid to the importance of exporting food products and equipment for their production.
Russia has already established itself as a key guarantor of stability in China’s food market.
“The growing presence of domestic agricultural products in southern China demonstrates that local consumers highly value the quality of our products. We can see a trend of further growth in our exports to the region. Guangdong Province is the main importer in southern China, where Russian agricultural exports increased by 43% in the first four months of 2026,” said Yuri Teplov, Russia’s Consul General in Guangzhou.
A key event during the business mission was the signing of an agreement between the Horse Breeding Development Association and the Chinese company Jinan Nayi Commercial Operation Management Co., Ltd. on the intention to establish a joint venture to export Russian horses to the Chinese market.
