On 16-19 August, Kazan will host the 4th International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”. The Russian-Chinese Investment Cooperation Atlas has been developed by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and will be presented at the Forum for the first time. This new document will serve as a practical guide for Chinese investors considering projects to be implemented in the Russian regions.
The Atlas presentation will take place amid dynamic Russian-Chinese investment cooperation. Currently, the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission on Investment Cooperation lists 89 major projects with a total declared investment volume of over $200 billion.
One of the key objectives of the new Atlas is to assist foreign investors in choosing sites for their project’s implementation in Russia. The document will consolidate information on current preference treatment, government support measures, and business conditions in all regions of the Russian Federation.
The Atlas has been developed over a long period of time with the participation of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Russia and the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia. According to the developers, the document will significantly reduce the time it takes for potential investors to find the necessary information and will increase the transparency of operating conditions in the Russian market.
The Forum will traditionally focus on developing interregional cooperation. Tatarstan is currently one of the most active Russian regions in China, which serves as a platform for joint investment initiatives, industrial projects, and business contacts.
The Atlas presentation will be a key event on the SPROUTS Forum’s investment agenda, bringing together representatives from government agencies, development institutions, businesses, and the expert community in Russia and China.
“This is a basic document that presents a set of preference treatment and measures, a guide for any Chinese investor, allowing them to gain a more detailed understanding of all business conditions in all regions of the country,” noted Ivan Ivannikov, Deputy Director of the Department of Analytical Support for Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
