Tatarstan is setting an example for regions in cooperation with China
Russia and China can find opportunities for cooperation in a wide range of areas, noted Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Aleksandr Babakov at the 4th International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”. Specifically, a working group has been established to shape the agenda for interparliamentary cooperation on artificial intelligence, and the parties previously discussed internet topics.
Student exchanges and culture remain important areas, while aircraft manufacturing, infrastructure (such as railways), and the agro-industrial complex are also promising areas.
Regional ties play a key role between the countries, noted Aleksandr Babakov. The SPROUTS Forum demonstrates how effectively Tatarstan can collaborate with several provinces.
“The dynamics of the forums we have held clearly indicate that more complex proposals and forms of cooperation are emerging. Here we have a platform where people can connect and find partners in business or science. This is trust, from which big policy will grow in the future,” Aleksandr Babakov said.
In his opinion, Tatarstan occupies a special role in Russia’s international agenda; it has hosted significant forums, and effective methods for institutional cooperation are being developed.
“The Republic demonstrates how rich Russia is, including in terms of production potential. Through the example of the regions, we see how comprehensive innovations are being implemented in various fields. By cooperating with Tatarstan, China has the opportunity to spread its proposals throughout the country,” Aleksandr Babakov noted.

The International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation” will be held in Kazan on 16-19 August.
The business programme includes such areas as interstate dialogue, creative economy, medicine, industry, education, business and entrepreneurship, business associations, finance and investment, culture, media, law, transport, agriculture, tourism, and construction.
The SPROUTS Business Forum confirmed its high status by receiving the EFEA Awards and becoming a laureate and finalist of the prestigious International Russian Event Awards.
