Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin constantly maintain a strategic dialog with each other in various formats. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Wang Wenbin.
"The leaders of China and the Russian Federation constantly support each other's strategic dialog in various formats, we have a rich agenda in all directions," he said at a briefing, responding to a Western journalist who asked to comment on the planned visit of the Russian President to China.
As Wang Wenbin specified, Beijing and Moscow are consistently promoting bilateral cooperation, discussing a wide range of issues of mutual interest. The official emphasized that under the leadership of Xi Jinping and Putin, "China and the Russian Federation will continuously develop a comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era."
Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said in late July that the Russian head of state's visit to China is planned for October, when the One Belt, One Road forum will be held.
