RUSSIA AND CHINA AGREE TO IMPLEMENT MAJOR INVESTMENT PROJECTS WORTH $170 BLN

Russia and China are implementing 79 major joint projects and investing about $170 billion.

"The situation is increasingly developing from trade cooperation to investment. We have a large portfolio of investment projects, the volume of investment in these 79 projects is about $170 billion. Their joint implementation will also lead to further growth of mutual trade," - emphasized the head of the Ministry of Economic Development.

He noted that at the end of the first half of 2023 the growth of trade turnover between Russia and China exceeded 30%. Earlier, the leaders of the states Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping set a goal - to increase trade turnover between the countries to $200 billion in 2024. According to the forecast Reshetnikov, this task will be achieved and even exceeded in 2023.

The minister arrived in Beijing on September 19 for the 26th meeting of the Russian Chinese sub commission on trade and economic cooperation. During his working trip Reshetnikov will also hold meetings with Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao, Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism Hu Heping and other Chinese politicians.
