Tatarstan Agricultural Producers to Get Help Entering the Chinese Market

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan and the Chinese group of companies “PuE” signed a cooperation agreement during the III International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”. As Su Jin, CEO of PuE Group, told journalists, the Tatarstan ministry is interested in increasing the number of regional companies entering the Chinese market and boosting direct contacts there.

“It is essential to understand that the Chinese market is huge, and a lot of companies would like to enter it. However, it is very specific. In particular, marketing and sales approaches are radically different from conventional understanding – they have been fundamentally changed by the emergence of TikTok. Therefore, an innovative approach is necessary to enter the Chinese market. We advise businesses to proceed gradually, step by step, with a clear roadmap,” noted Su Jin.

The agreement signed with the Ministry of Agriculture includes plans for pilot sales. The document also provides for an educational component – training of highly qualified specialists who can professionally develop relations with China. “It is clear to everyone that success depends on people. No qualified personnel, no goals achieved,” emphasized Su Jin.

The second part of the agreement signed at the SPROUTS Forum opens opportunities for Tatarstan businesses to use an electronic cross-border business system.

Yuri Fedorov, President of the Consortium of Specialists and Organizations for International Interstate Cooperation in Energy, Industry, and Trade, noted that the increase in Tatarstan agricultural producers entering the Chinese market will depend on joint work with the regional Ministry of Agriculture. “On our part, we will use our best efforts because we have the necessary expertise and personnel. From Tatarstan's side, we looked for a reliable partner, and we hope the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the republic is the very same partner,” stated Yuri Fedorov.

Meanwhile, as Su Jin stated, Tatarstan producers got lucky because virtually all agricultural products manufactured in the republic are in demand on the Chinese market.
