The work on the joint Russian-Chinese movie project “Red Silk” has begun, reports Business Online. This was announced by the Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
“ Individually, for example, I can't help but mention the movie. I will say two words, that we are very proud that on March 15 our space drama “Challenge” by Klim Shipenko was released on the big screen of the Celestial Empire. And now a new project “Red Silk” is being prepared. We are already discussing with our colleagues the possibility of its creation,” the Minister said.
The action of the movie “Red Silk” will unfold in 1927. In the center of the plot - transportation of secret documents across Russia, on which depends the future of the USSR and China. Foreign intelligence agents, hiding under the guise of ordinary passengers, seek to seize this information. A young Red Army soldier and a former Tsarist agent have to unite to uncover a common enemy.
The movie will feature both Russian and Chinese actors, including Milos Bikovich, Gleb Kalyuzhny, Elena Podkaminskaya, Gosha Kutsenko, Zheng Hanyi and Huang Haonan. The project will be directed by Andrei Volgin.
Recall that at the beginning of the year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order to hold the Russian-Chinese Years of Culture in 2024-2025. During Putin's visit to the Celestial Empire in May, he and Chinese leader Xi Jinping opened the “cross-cultural” Years of Culture between Russia and China at the State Bolshoi Theater of the People's Republic of China.
