Russian Post and Tatarstan Signed an Agreement on the Development of the Postal Network in the Republic

On the sidelines of the III International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and General Director of Russian Post Mikhail Volkov signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement aims to provide support measures that promote the development of the postal network and improve the quality of service for residents, especially in remote settlements and rural areas of the region.

The postal network in the Republic of Tatarstan consists of 1,112 stationary offices, 830 of which are located in rural areas. In addition, 29 mobile offices serve settlements without permanent post offices. Post offices are significant social infrastructure facilities. Postal and financial services are available here: visitors can send and receive letters and parcels, pay utility bills, subscribe to publications, and purchase essential goods.

“Russian Post actively cooperates with Tatarstan's industrial sector, particularly in providing logistics services for the republic's leading enterprises. It is important to continue developing this strategic partnership,” said Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan.

“The Republic of Tatarstan is characterized by dynamic development and a commitment to innovation, which fully suits our goals. Through joint efforts, we will develop logistics projects, modern postal services, and actively introduce digital technologies in order to provide residents of the region with convenient, efficient, and innovative service – a reliable link between customers and the post,” noted Mikhail Volkov, General Director of Russian Post.

Russian Post is regularly updating its office network in the republic. Over three years, following the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the company has upgraded 73 rural offices in the region, with another 15 scheduled for renovation in 2025. The new rural offices feature expanded functionality. In addition to standard postal services, customers can verify their account on the Gosuslugi (Government Services) website. Thanks to an equipped “health corner”, they can measure their blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, and body temperature by themselves. In some modernized offices, personal computers are available for individual use of the Gosuslugi website.
