Kazan plans to localize the assembly of equipment from two Chinese companies and open a service center. This was announced by Alexander Shepelev, General Director of Taurus Motors, member of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, and President of the Vtorstvetmet Union of Secondary Non-Ferrous Metallurgy Organizations, during the III International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”.
“We want to localize the assembly production of excavators with the prospect of further localizing manufacturing in Russia. The market is currently experiencing significant stagnation, so what we are doing now is a key to the future. Major sales might not happen at present, but we will be able to build competencies that will allow us to increase sales in the future. I want us to gain crucial competencies in assembly technology and together develop a product that suits Russian market,” he stated.
The signing memorandums on joint cooperation and equipment assembly localization between Taurus Motors, Kazan-based company, and Jiangsu Gaode Hydraulic Machinery Co., Ltd. and Taian Jiahe Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., the Chinese companies, was coincided with the SPROUTS forum. According to Shepelev, they are seriously committed to the cooperation and aim for long-term connections.
“Our companies have been cooperating for about 10 years. At the SPROUTS Forum, we would like to deepen this cooperation, establish new contacts, and open new horizons. Our main goal in Kazan is to sign a mutual cooperation agreement with Taurus Motors,” said Zhou Haidong, General Director of Jiangsu Gaode Hydraulic Machinery and member of the Council of the Jiangsu Province Machinery Industry Association.
“I really hope that our company and our products will enter the Russian market and that we can find new common ground. As soon as we sign the agreement, our strong cooperation will begin,” stated An BaoFeng, General Director of Taian Jiahe Heavy Industry and Chairman of the Tai'an City Machinery Industry Chamber of Commerce.
