From 13 to 14 October, the Global Women’s Summit took place, marking the 30th anniversary of the UN World Conference on Women held in Beijing. The Global Women’s Summit in Beijing was not only an international event but also a powerful impetus for advancing the high‑quality development of the women’s agenda.
The summit was held under the motto “One Shared Future: A New and Accelerated Process of Comprehensive Women’s Development”.
Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the summit, noting that “women act as creators, drivers and advocates of human civilisation”, and that advancing the women’s agenda is a shared responsibility of the international community.
