Tatarstan stand and Russian sweets at an exhibition in Xinjiang

For the first time, Russian-made products appeared at the China-Eurasia Expo, where Tatarstan delegation introduced guests to the upcoming “SPROUTS” Business Forum.

The ninth China-Eurasia Expo opened in Urumqi. The 140,000-square-metre exhibition space housed 15 pavilions covering six areas: from investment cooperation and new production capacities to green energy and cultural tourism. This year event is held under the slogan “New Opportunities of the Silk Road – New Energy of Eurasia”.

49 countries confirmed their participation, with Russia, the UAE, South Korea, and Thailand opening their pavilions for the first time. Kazakhstan and Pakistan participated as honourary guests. Russian products, including sweets and honey, Khokhloma and Orenburg shawls, were brought from Moscow, Perm, and Novosibirsk.

The Tatarstan stand deserves special attention. The “SPROUTS” Business Forum, which will be held in Kazan on 16-19 August, is also announced there.

The China-Eurasia Expo will last five days. It is organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People’s Government. Partners supporting the event include the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the Secretariat of the “China – Central Asia” Mechanism, and the Institute of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation.
