Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan Xiang Bo is concluding his diplomatic mission and leaving Republic of Tatarstan. Over nearly four years of service, he became one of the key figures in the development of Russian–Chinese relations in the region.
Xiang Bo headed the Consulate since October 2022. With his support, the business forum International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation” was launched in Kazan in 2023. The platform quickly became a major meeting point for entrepreneurs from both countries and a catalyst for joint projects.
The Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov also met with Xiang Bo at the Government House and presented him with the “100th Anniversary of the Formation of the Tatar ASSR” medal in recognition of his contribution to the social and economic development of the republic.
The diplomat and his wife are expected to depart Kazan in early June. The name of his successor has not yet been announced.
