Trade Turnover Between Russia and China Continues to Gain Momentum

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov held talks with Vice Premier of the State Council of China Ding Xuexiang. The meeting took place ahead of the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China.

The parties discussed the work of the Intergovernmental Russia-China Commission on Investment Cooperation. The portfolio of joint projects covers metallurgy, the chemical industry, mechanical engineering, forestry, the agro-industrial sector, and transport and logistics.

“Investment activity is also having a positive impact on the development of bilateral trade. This year, we have managed to return to positive trade turnover dynamics,” Manturov noted.

Russia and China reaffirmed their readiness to create predictable conditions for the development of business ties between entrepreneurs from both countries. The parties also highlighted the role of the юбилейное X Russia-China EXPO 2026 currently taking place in Harbin as a key platform for expanding trade, economic and interregional cooperation.
