Tatarstan’s Prime Minister Leila Fazleeva has led a study delegation of department heads and local administration representatives to Sichuan, China. The regions plan to strengthen cooperation in emerging fields such as new materials and artificial intelligence, Sichuan Daily reports.
The Tatarstan delegation’s visit to Sichuan began at the International Pavilion of Sister Cities, where a scale model of the Kazan Kremlin and a snow leopard doll — a gift from the republic — were on display.
The regions signed a cooperation agreement in 2015, and the following year they officially established sister‑city relations. Thanks to strong ties, participants are building a comprehensive, multi‑level and large‑scale cooperation network, Leila Fazleeva noted.
The parties regularly exchange experience. For two consecutive years, Sichuan Province has sent delegations to Kazan to take part in the International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”.
