During a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the introduction of a visa‑free regime for Chinese citizens.
“On our part, mirror measures for citizens of the People’s Republic of China visiting Russia will come into force in the very near future,” RIA Novosti quoted Vladimir Putin as saying.
On 2 September, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC announced that it would introduce a one‑year trial 30‑day visa‑free regime for Russians starting from 15 September. The new policy applies to citizens planning to visit China for tourism and business purposes.
